PERSONAL DATA PROCESSING PRIVACY POLICY

pursuant to Article 13 of Regulation EU 2016/679

Newsletter Service

Dear user, the processing of your personal data necessary for registration with and use of the newsletter service will take place in accordance with the legislation on the protection of personal data, according to principles of fairness, lawfulness and transparency, limitation of storage, as well as minimisation of data consistent with the requirements set out in the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation EU 2016/679) and the current national legislation on the subject.

MUSE – MUSEO DELLE SCIENZE, in its capacity as “Data Controller”, wishes to inform you about the purposes and methods underlying the collection and processing of your personal data.
More specifically, the following information is provided:

1. PURPOSES OF PROCESSING AND LEGAL BASIS
We collect your personal data following (i) subscription to Muse’s services that provide periodic updates on related services or (ii) submission of the specific subscription form for the newsletter for the purpose of sending communications via email regarding activities and initiatives of the Museum and its network, news concerning the results of scientific research conducted by Muse, invitations to openings and special events, institutional news, and sending special promotional offers for admission to the Museum and participation in activities.
The legal basis warranting processing lies in the performance of a duty of public interest, such interest being the purpose of informing, establishing a dialogue and inspiring on issues of nature, science and sustainable future, which duty MUSE is required to discharge under Article 2 of Decree of Provincial Board President No. 4 – 62/Leg. dated 11 March 2011.
May we remind you that providing your personal data for the purposes described above is optional. However, failure to do so will make it impossible for us to deliver the requested service.

2. PROCESSING METHODS
The processing of your personal data will be carried out using paper-based and automated computer/electronic means, based on a rationale strictly related to the purposes of processing and in a manner designed to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of such data.

3. AUTOMATED DECISION PROCESSES AND PROFILING
The newsletter registration form allows other data to be provided in addition to those strictly necessary for the delivery of the service, the purpose being to send you communications as much as possible related to the interests stated by you in such additional information. Such processing will therefore imply your profiling.

4. DATA COMMUNICATION AND DISCLOSURE (CATEGORIES OF RECIPIENTS)
At the time of registration, your personal data will be disclosed to the newsletter service manager, who will be responsible for sending automatic information messages.
You may request a list of the Data Processors using the contact details of the Data Controller provided above.

5. TRANSFERRING YOUR DATA TO NON-EU COUNTRIES
Your personal data will not be transferred outside the European Union.

6. DATA RETENTION TIME
Your personal data will be retained throughout the service term or until you withdraw your consent. After this period elapses, your data will be erased.
Please note that you may withdraw, at any time, any consent given using the service cancellation link contained in the newsletter you received.

7. RIGHTS OF THE DATA SUBJECT
Rights of access, rectification, amendment and erasure of data, portability, limitation of processing and withdrawal of consent given.
(a) According to Regulation EU 2016/679 you have the right to obtain from the Data Controller access to your data and rectification, amendment or erasure of such data. Within 30 days of submitting your request, you will receive a written reply, including by electronic means.
(b) You also have the right to object to the processing or request limitation of such processing, for legitimate reasons and in the cases as under Articles 18 and 21 of Regulation EU 2016/679.
(c) You may withdraw at any time your consent to the processing of your data given for the purposes stated herein.
(d) Finally, you may exercise your right to data portability, requesting the Data Controller to transmit your data to another data controller.

Right to lodge a complaint with the relevant Supervisory Authority.
(a) If you believe that your data have been processed unlawfully or in breach of applicable law provisions, you will be entitled to lodge a complaint with the Supervisory Authority.
