72 Collections, 150,000 specimens, Collection period: since 1800
Due to its size and the scientific relevance of its specimens, the MUSE Herbarium (Herbarium Tridentinum TR) is considered one of the most important in Italy. It comprises about 150,000 specimens of plants, mosses, lichens and fungi, collected from the early 1800s to the present day, from Trentino, the rest of Italy and many foreign locations on all continents. The Herbarium is organised into 72 different collections, many of which are connected to the work of important nineteenth- and twentieth-century botanists such as Facchini, Ambrosi, Gelmi, Venturi, Porta, Bresadola, and Fenaroli.
