Final event of the LIFE WolfAlps EU project: three days dedicated to the coexistence between humans and wolves, including scientific conferences, meetings, workshops, activities and performances.
The project
LIFE WolfAlps EU is a European project funded under the LIFE Nature and Biodiversity programme and is supported by six co-funders.
The project runs from 1 September 2019 and will end on 30 September 2024.
The main aim of the project is to improve coexistence between wolves and people living and working in the Alps and in the Ligurian-Piedmont Apennine corridor by building and implementing shared solutions together with stakeholders. There are nine lines of action: prevention; monitoring of the Alpine wolf population; anti-poison dog units and wolf-dog hybridisation control actions to counter threats to wolf conservation; education and communication activities; stakeholder involvement and support for ecotourism.
The actions are carried out thanks to the collaboration of an international working group with 20 partners from Italy, France, Slovenia and Austria.
