MUSE's PEBA

For a more accessible museum

RP_Muse_-®Hufton+Crow_023 (1)

The PEBA, the Plan for Architectural Barrier Removal, is a nationwide initiative aimed at making museums accessible to people with disabilities, guaranteeing universal access to works of art and cultural experiences.

Developed by the Architutti collective for MUSE, the document is the result of a process shared by all the museum departments, in collaboration with local associations, and represents a strategic plan to promote cultural experiences, social integration and improved quality of life through the total accessibility of spaces.

The PEBA is our guide to promoting well-being and responding to the needs of the most vulnerable social realities. This path involves raising awareness among internal staff, developing skills through continuous training and sharing knowledge at all levels of the museum organisation.

The Plan is the first step in raising awareness of the path that has been taken and in assessing, qualitatively and quantitatively, the relationship between the museum and its audiences.
