CALL FOR PARTICIPATION
In a time of climate change and the redefinition of relationships among living beings, LIKE LIFE, the program conceived and curated by Mali Weil for MUSE – Science Museum of Trento will project the Museum into 2063 for an entire weekend. The journey into the future will explore the horizon of interspecies relationships 40 years from now, bringing together public and professionals from design, art, cuisine, anthropology, history, cultural theory.
This event focuses on three key points to imagine together during the future: design, food, and future fictions: three topics to intersect networks and research projects, artistic and innovative practices, design platforms, organizations, and future visions of biological, cultural, social, and political relationships in the Anthropocene.
Like Life program unfolds between public activities and others with closed-number access addressing practitioners, artists, designers and researchers selected by this call for participation.
The program will take place on Friday, December 1 (from 4 pm), the entire day on Saturday, December 2, and Sunday, December 3 (work is expected to conclude by 1.30 pm).
The program includes 4 free theoretical/practical meetings with:4 Fiona Raby, Zoönomic Institute/Klaas Luitenbrouwer, Climavore and School of Interspecies Diplomacies and Werewolfish Studies plus a public Lectio Magistralis with Fiona Raby followed by an intervention of Prometheus Food Lab.
The detailed final schedule will be sent after admission.
This call is addressed to all persons interested in the topics and disciplines involved, regardless of gender, age, culture. Selection will take place on the basis of the date of application and interest shown in participating.
About 25 people will be admitted to this program.
In order to create an interest group, participation in all three days is required and participation in individual activities is not permitted.
The meetings will be held mainly in English and will take place within the Museum.
For 10 persons selected and resident outside the Trentino-Alto Adige region, a reimbursement of expenses up to €150 is provided.

Fiona Raby
Professor of Design and Social Enquiry at the New School in New York, co-director of the Designed Realities Lab and, together with Anthony Dunne, theorist of speculative design.
With Dunne & Raby studio, she is pioneering an innovative research and teaching platform that understands design as a catalyst for interdisciplinary imagination, a kind of “laboratory of many worlds” to explore the idea of multiple possibilities in the face of an increasingly monolithic worldview of the technological future.
Zoönomic Institute / Klaas Kuitenbrouwer
Organisation based at the Het Nieuwe Instituut in Rotterdam that aims at ecological regeneration by including the interests of Others than Human in the organisational decision-making process of public and private institutions.
Climavore
An award-winning research, education and action platform initiated by Cooking Sections in 2015 (and represented here by Enrico Milazzo), which addresses the climate crisis and its impact on food infrastructure and the environment through innovative experimentation combining ecology, architecture, art and pedagogy.
School of Interspecies Diplomacies and Werewolfish Studies
First institution to bring together a range of training courses, both intensive and long-term, as well as practical activities and transversal methodologies to build multidisciplinary skills and train interspecies diplomats.
Prometheus Food Lab
Cultural device founded by chef and researcher Lorenzo Barbasetti from Prun, to explore the edible potential of remote places and to restore the ecological role of humans in landscapes through food.
